Eat and Exercise to Energize
Hosted by Ecole Edwards Elementary School in Airdrie and sponsored by the Be Fit for Life Centre, University of Calgary, School Council, Calgary Health Region, N’STEP and the Airdrie Echo this project aims to encourage healthy eating habits and daily physical activity as a school community. Through a series of educational presentations by partners to students, staff and parents a greater capacity to engage in healthy behaviour in the school will be achieved.

Flagstaff Youth Initiatives
This project will be hosted by grade 8 students from Flagstaff County in the schools of  Forestburg, Sedgewick, Strome, Lougheed, Killam, Hardisty and Daysland and will be sponsored by the Battle River School District, East Central Health and Flagstaff Family and Community Support Services. A one day kick off conference will be hosted for students to provide learning sessions on health topics and youth development. Schools will then work together to develop a community development project for their school community aimed at supporting health which they will work on throughout the school year.

Healthier Choices: Honouring our Heritage; Optimizing our Future
Hosted by Alexander Ferguson school and sponsored by its Parent Advisory Council, the City of Calgary, Killarney Recreation Centre and the Discovery Pre School this project aims to mobilize the school community to build and strengthen its capacity. By implementing a new lunch/snack program, providing new active living activities for students and building on the Circle of Courage character development program, health will become strengthened within the school community.

Paths to Wellness
Hosted by the Peace High Regional Outreach School and sponsored by Peace Country Health, Breakfast for Learning, Fitness on the Go and Peace River FCSS this project will increase the youths’ awareness of how nutritious eating and active living pave the way to enhancing a happy healthy lifestyle. It will help educate youth about the benefits of a balanced diet utilizing community professionals in the classroom to guide students through the preparation of their daily snack and lunch program as well as see students participate in multiple healthy physical activities available in the community

Cyclone Centre
Hosted by Innisfail Jr/Sr High School and sponsored by the Chinooks Edge School Division, Innisfail Parent Support Association and Town of Innisfail this project will create an up to date and improved fitness and wellness centre housed within the school. This centre will work to help inform and engage the student population, staff and community about the variety of healthy community wellness ideas, activities and nutritional opportunities available to them while providing a safe space to be active.

Active Living in High Prairie
Hosted by the High Prairie and Regional Recreation Board the Prairie View Outreach School, Prairie River Junior High School, EW Pratt High School and High Prairie Elementary School will see their students accessing a variety of 10 active living lessons that will address a holistic approach to active living while engaging students in a collaborative and healthy social environment.
